About

Dr Mariano Rubharajan is a physician from Sri Lanka. He is passionate to help, learn and take up challenges and opportunities. He graduated from Eastern University, Sri Lanka and did his postintern appointment at Teaching Hospital, Batticaloa as a Senior House Officer, Quality Management Medical Officer and a Transplant Coordinator, where he developed his surgical skills, negotiation skills along with skills necessary for client-oriented service. His professional interests are health administration and health informatics.

His leadership roles in the Faculty Students’ Union during his medical school in Sri Lanka, helped him to develop variety of skills including communication, negotiation and leadership. After graduation, he continued to occupy various positions in academic and welfare societies, which gave him grounds to further develop his leadership skills, critical thinking and organizational skills by executing duties of assigned roles at such associations.

He moved to Canada in 2019 and has been adapting to the new culture and environment. He took his first step toward studies in Canada by enrolling in Bridging Course for Internationally Trained Medical Doctors at Ryerson University and also completed his Health Informatics program at George Brown College, Toronto, Fall of 2021.

He worked at Women’s College Hospital as an IM/IT Support Intern and also as a Clinical Content Developer at the CareClinic health app. In 2022 he moved to British Columbia to start his career as a Clinical Informatics Analyst at Interior Health Authority.

Being a quick learner and team player, he is open and eagerly looking forward to new opportunities to further enhance his skills in order to become an outstanding member of the Canadian healthcare system and contribute towards Global Health.
